The leaves are changing colors, the weather is getting cooler, and it's time to transition our wardrobes to richer fabrics and textures. As we pack up the linen and pull out the wool, fall 2023 jewelry trends are providing the perfect accessories to complete our fall style.
This season's jewelry is all about making a statement. While dainty jewelry will always have its place, this year it's out with the delicate and in with the dramatic. Bold, attention-grabbing jewelry in warm metallic tones and earthy gemstones help reflect fall's natural beauty.
No trend screams fall 2023 more than chunky beaded gemstone necklaces. These substantial statement pieces featuring colorful stones and ornate details are the accessory for fall.
According to Bazaar's recent post "These 5 Fall 2023 Jewelry Trends Will Complete Your Wardrobe" by Tara Gonzalez published on August 24th, 2023, chunky beaded necklaces are perfect for fall layering. A bold necklace over your favorite turtleneck or under the lapel of a blazer amps up any autumn look.
Jewelry designer John S. Brana has some particularly striking gemstone necklace options that capture this trend beautifully:
This necklace features a mix of carnelian, freshwater pearls, carved carnelian flowers, amber, and 24k gold vermeil beads. The clustered strands cascade over six 1.5 inch carnelian beads for an eye-catching look. At 20 inches long, it's the perfect length to stand out over fall layers.
The combination of smooth round beads and intricately carved flowers makes this a go-to statement piece for fall. Pair it with neutrals like black, gray, and camel, or go bold with rich burgundy and emerald green.
Exotic Keishi pearls give this necklace irresistible texture. Lavender, white, cranberry, and light blue Keishi pearls combine with coordinating freshwater pearls. Sea glass, Austrian crystals, and fine silver beads add shimmer.
At 21 inches long, this substantial necklace commands attention. It works as well with business attire as it does with cocktail dresses. Let it take center stage against a simple black turtleneck or make it pop against bold fall hues.
Graduated crystal quartz beads give way to freeform amber, glass, onyx, buffalo horn, and lava beads. Scattered 24k gold vermeil beads provide a touch of shine.
Twenty-three inches of mixed natural stones and textures ensure this necklace makes a statement over all your fall layers. It's bold enough to hold its own yet versatile to complement any fall palette.
Another major fall 2023 trend according to Cosmopolitan’s recent post "The 5 Biggest Fall 2023 Jewelry Trends to Wear as Soon as Humanly Possible" by Danielle Flum published on September 8th, 2023 are oversized drop earrings. These attention-grabbing earrings are an effortless way to elevate any outfit.
At over two inches long, these bronze beauties certainly qualify as oversized. The hammered bronze has an exotic, floral shape sure to turn heads. A protective coating prevents tarnish so you can enjoy their shine.
Make these boho earrings the focal point of your look by pairing them with simple hairstyles and makeup. They’re perfect for date nights, parties, and anytime you want to make a dramatic statement.
A wider, more triangular shape gives these teardrops a modern vibe. Hammered bronze adds mesmerizing shine. At over two inches long, they demand attention.
Let these substantial earrings do the talking by keeping the rest of your look minimal. Pull hair back to show them off and use them to elevate basic fall staples like jeans, sweaters, and leather jackets.
At three inches long, these lightweight aluminum earrings make a seriously bold statement. The hammered finish catches the light beautifully. Their hypoallergenic stainless steel wires ensure comfortable wear.
These earrings work perfectly for day or night. For day, let them add some edge to feminine dresses and flirty skirts. At night, use them to amp up the drama of your going-out looks. Their versatility makes them an effortless way to shake up all your fall outfits.
What better way to accessorize fall’s focus on sleeves than with wide cuff bracelets? These substantial bracelets lend both texture and color to complete seasonal looks.
Both Bazaar's August 24th, 2023 "Arm Cuffs Like Cleopatra" and Cosmopolitan's September 8th, 2023 trend piece cited wide cuffs as a top trend for fall. Whether layered with delicate bracelets or worn solo, wide cuffs make wrists impossible to ignore.
At almost two inches wide, this brushed bronze cuff epitomizes the wide bracelet trend. Its unique anticlastic design and uncoated bronze will develop a patina for more personalized wear over time.
Make this cuff the star of your wrist stack by pairing it with complementing thin bangles. Its versatility also allows it to be worn alone for a bold singular statement. Let it ground flowy peasant blouses or complement the sleeves of chunky knits.
This 14k gold-filled cuff brings all the richness of gold without the expense. At 1 3⁄4 inches wide, the hammered finish adds appealing texture. It comes in sizes for all wrists and is easy to slip on and off.
Elevate your fall style by layering this luxe gold bracelet with thinner gold bangles. Or wear it solo to let it command attention. It dresses up any long-sleeved fall outfit, from turtlenecks and blazers to cocktail dresses. The gold tone also perfectly complements fall’s array of blacks, grays, browns, and jewel tones.
Hammering and metal chasing bring this aluminum cuff’s eye-catching bark texture to life. The organic look is offset by the sleek silver tone of the aluminum. At 1 1⁄2 inches wide, it makes wrists impossible to overlook.
This cuff’s nature-inspired look works beautifully for fall. Contrast it with the sleeves of your favorite chunky sweaters or let it add interest to solid colored tops. Its textured look also pairs effortlessly with fall’s popular plaids, tweeds, and prints.
This fall, it’s all about standing out with statement-making jewelry. Bold gemstone necklaces, dramatic drop earrings, and substantial wide cuffs are this season's top trends. Jewelry is one of the easiest ways to refresh your fall style.
Rather than blending in, let your jewelry speak up with vibrant colors, interesting textures, and eye-catching proportions. Pick one showstopping cuff or choker and let it take center stage. Or get creative mixing various oversized pieces for a more eclectic dimensional look.
Whatever your personal style, these fall 2023 jewelry trends offer countless options to help you make a memorable fashion statement.

Big, bold and attention grabbing, it is obvious that with statement jewelry, more really is better. This season, put away those simpler accessories and be ready to complement your outfit with some of the latest trends. With today’s fashion designers incorporating statement earrings and bracelets into their latest outfits, it is time to jump on board and go out and purchase some of these fabulous items for yourself. This fall and winter, choose bigger, choose louder, and build up a stunning collection of statement jewelry perfect for any occasion. The sheer variety is enough to please any fashion enthusiast.
Statement earrings are making a big comeback this season. This means that you can now wear those stunning copper disc earrings or shimmering silver chandelier earrings to the office, nightclub or restaurant and remain completely in trend with the latest fashion. Of course, there is more variety than this, and it is not hard to find statement earrings to suit all kinds of tastes and outfits. From simple aluminum designs to golden accessories encrusted with jewels, finding a pair of earrings that looks great and instantly grabs people’s attention is all too easy.
If earrings are not to your liking, statement bracelets are also a hot item this fall and winter. Huge cuff designs, perfect for being flaunted anywhere from the conference room to the bar, have been seen all over the catwalk recently. For something more elegant, but equally as bold, bangle bracelets have also been spotted on several occasions on some of today’s top models. There is enough diversity here to suit anyone. Whether you prefer to wear a large number of stylish aluminum bracelets, or a diamond-covered cuff bracelet is totally up to you. Whatever you choose, you will still be very much in fashion!
Regardless of which type of statement jewelry that you choose, there is now only one rule: wear a single piece that will complement and not draw attention away from your outfit. The trend at this time is that current outfits are seen with only a one item of fashion jewelry, rather than being covered in it. Whether this is from the more modest lifestyles that we are experiencing now due to the financial crisis is anyone’s guess, but what we are seeing on the catwalks is fairly concrete.
Choose carefully when dressing and pick one accessory that will make a statement in a subtle, yet bold way. Just remember to be smart with your fashion accessories, and wear the right pieces for the situation. For example, sporting a set of loud copper bangle bracelets is not recommended for the office environment. Similarly, a pair of jeweled statement earrings will not suit a barbeque or any other outdoor event. Remember that the trend is to wear one piece with your outfit, so choose well. The right decision will create a look that demands attention without being too overpowering. This just shows that it is possible to be both modest and fashionable at the same time with statement jewelry!

Anticlastic jewelry is a series of techniques used in metal forming to create handcrafted jewelry. The artist stretches sheet metal to create a concave curve on the outer surface while compressing the metal to create a convex curve in the middle. Both major curves, which are at 90 degrees to one another, go in the same direction. The bowl or dome shape is the ultimate form. Anticlastic jewelry is very unique and requires great patience and skills from the jewelry designer.
During the process of anticlastic rising, a flat sheet of metal is formed by stretching the center and compressing the sides so that the metal creates two curves that are of right angles to one another. While the pattern of the sheet is important to create the desired form, various forms can often be made from the same pattern. The final result is that of a “Pringle” potato chip or saddle shape.
Anticlastic raising is generally performed with a combination of plastic, steel, and wooden tools. A steel stake and plastic mallet are usually the quickest technique, but offers less control which ultimately requires more planishing. The preferred method is typically a plastic stake and steel hammer. This combination requires minimal planishing, and offers good speed and control. Available in various shapes and sizes, the stakes used in anticlastic raising primarily depend on the width of the metal and desired curves. The width of the pattern cannot exceed the distance between the crests.
Anticlastic raising is best suited for ductile metals, including silver, gold, copper, and bronzes. When this technique is used for jewelry, the metal can be quite thin. Shoppers can find a large selection of anticlastic jewelry as the technique offers a unique variety of design choices. Some popular choices include anticlastic earrings, cuffs, and bracelets. These pieces of art are highly sleek, sensual, and contemporary with a handcrafted touch.
Due to today’s high metal prices, a major advantage to anticlastic raising is the ability to create relatively thin and structural strength forms. The result is often a form that is springy and flexible, such as a necklace that requires flexibility to be worn comfortably. Anticlastic raising is both modern and ancient, with little history in between. During the Bronze Age Ireland, a ribbon torc necklace was crafted from a sheet of metal and twisted into a double helix. This creative technique of metalworking did not appear again until the end of the 20th century.

Fold forming is a collection of techniques developed and pioneered by Charles Lewton-Brain. These fold forming techniques are now being used in a wide array of jewelry styles, from earrings to bracelets. During the process of fold forming, sheets of metal are hammered and annealed into three-dimensional shapes without any soldering. While only a couple decades old – hailing back to the 1980s – this metalsmithing process employs metal’s plasticity to create complex forms. Fold forming has become widely recognized as a new approach to jewelry-making and metal-working all over the world. Modern fold forming is considered a combination of traditional metalwork and origami. It’s about allowing the metal to fold in natural ways according to its plasticity, instead of forcing form. When one does not fight to form the metal, forming becomes extremely rapid and efficient. Highly complex relief forms can be produced with just a single sheet of metal and a few tools, including your hands, fingers, mallets, hammers, anvils, and rolling mills. Fold forming techniques can be used with a wide range of metals, including steel, niobium, and aluminum. They are often used in enameling, holloware, and jewelry as there is no soldering required.
Names are given to the basic folds in the process of fold forming. These may include T-Folds, Line-Folds, Rueger Folds, and Cross-Folds, among others. Both traditional and non-traditional metals can be used in fold forming. Copper is an ideal medium, often used in jewelry, for its brilliant luster and versatility. While fold forms are beautiful in themselves, they are often used as components in more complex pieces. Once basic folds have been mastered, fold forms can be manipulated, sliced, and rejoined.
Form folding is an art form that provides quick and gratifying results and lead to fresh and innovative design ideas in jewelry and other objects. While there are a set of basic fold-forms known, each can be taken in many directions. It’s entirely possible to create a form that has never been done before. Due to their uniqueness and beautiful qualities, fold formed jewelry makes for the perfect gift idea for any occasion.
The Rolex Awards for Enterprise, The British Museum Research Lab, and several others have certified the process of fold forming as new and has never been done in the history of metal working. Fold forming is unlike traditional forms of jewelry as they have more texture and creative properties that make them must-have pieces in every jewelry box.

Quality: Chandelier earrings often have many moving parts, making quality on the top of the list for important features. Handmade chandelier earrings are made with a high attention to detail, making them the ideal option if you are looking for durable jewelry. Sturdy metals, including platinum, gold, copper, and sterling silver, are terrific options. Colors: While many women prefer brilliant, bold colors, be sure that you select a pair of earrings that are versatile enough to be worn with many different outfits. If you want a neutral metal that will match nearly anything you wear, opt for two-toned earrings or select earrings that will pair well with your existing jewelry. Styles: When it comes to style, chandelier earrings have many to choose from. Some chandelier earrings consist of geometric shapes that give them an ‘art deco’ feel. Others feature multi-gemstone, free-falling designs that offer a bohemian effect. Consider your wardrobe before selecting a pair of chandelier earrings to properly match outfits.
Comfort: Always consider comfort over style, especially when it comes to larger chandelier statement earrings. Backings should be study, as the weight of the earrings can put too much pressure on the earlobes. Many women look for chandelier earrings with hooks, as these provide more support for the ears, minimizing the weight.

As handmade jewelry becomes more popular, these pieces are becoming conversation pieces and are to be cherished. Many great accessories have come from handmade artists, from beaded bracelets to wired necklaces.
Layered jewelry has become an appealing trend among jewelry-wearers of all ages. Stacked bracelets and rings are created to portray distinctive layers and look fantastic with dressy attire or just a pair of jeans and a blouse. Multi-strand necklaces are also ideal for many occasions that call for unique pieces to give confidence and individuality. Handmade jewelry that uses layers exudes sophistication and makes a bold statement without being too distracting. Remember to only wear one layered piece at a time as to not overdo it.
As one of the more affordable types of precious metal, sterling silver is highly trendy in the fashion world. Quality handmade sterling silver jewelry pieces will last for many years and go well with nearly any wardrobe selection. Many pieces of gemstone jewelry are made from sterling silver, especially pendants, rings, and earrings. Handmade jewelry in Sterling silver is often complimented with bright colored and exotic gems that add shine and color to the metal. Wear silver with contrasting colors to spice up neutral outfits.
